Hi Steen,
I can't advise specifically on Carvoeiro because
we are not sure if we have ever been! I think we may have passed through
last February. However, my wife is disabled. She had polio as a child and
has callipers on both legs. So general problems on the Algarve; steep access
to beaches. Many of the best beaches have too many steep steps for her to
attempt. Uneven or cobbled pavements make walking difficult. We found the
beaches at Armacao de Pera, Quarteira and Monta Rota to be accessible.
Armacao and Monta Rota had duckboards over the sand to make access even
easier. I don't recall any difficulty with access into any restaurants or
bars and the locals are mainly accommodating without making a big fuss,
which is appreciated.
We are hoping to be able to spend more time in
Carvoeiro when my daughter and her family move out, so maybe we can do some
research for you.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ray
