Hey dude, thanks for the info (from the chick). Whoever else responded, thanx to you too. What country are you from? (just curious). You sound like you're well travelled. We are so pumped to go on our honeymoon - we will be spending one week in the Algarve (haven't nailed down exactly which resort we'll be in yet), and probably another 4 weeks or 5 weeks travelling around Europe (backpacking). First week:luxury, second week:roughing it. Should be a blast! Any other info you have on cool places to go in Spain, France, Switzerland, etc. would be much appreciated. But I guess you should keep it to a minimum since this is a message board for Carvoeiro! I have a question: why does no one stand in front of that webcam and pose for their friends and family back home? I'll be doin' it for sure!! I can't wait!! Too bad it's like 6 months away. Anyhoo, to all you die-hard travellers out there: talk to me!!

to the honeymooners: you want 5 reasons to spend your honeymoon in carvoeiro?? i can not give you 5 , but 50 !!!!! i also spent my honeymoon there in 1997. i've never been to portugal before, and now i am infected. carvoeiro is the most beautiful place in the algarve. also it is the central place for all your trips in the algarve. needn't tell you about the best bars in algarve, my favourite is oficina bar, a small , very low budget bar, but really nice peaople, not only tourists, lots of citizens also. i can write you pages abt carvoeiro, . but i think you have to try yourself. on this way greetings to paolo, the crew of mitch's bar, gil and his wife, take care down there . see you next year.

We have just returned from Carvoeiro, we stayed at the Monte Carvoeiro. If you want advice from real people then here is mine. The Monte Carvoeiro is the best resort we have ever stayed in, we have travelled all over Europe and the Canaries, but Carvoeiro is far better than any other resort we have visited. Five reasons for visiting Monte Carvoeiro, The resort is Gold Crown Standard, the people are extremely friendly, the food is excellent, the weather wonderful and the beaches are magnificent. Do not hesitate in visiting Monte Carvoeiro, we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Hey anybody - I'm the chick who wants info on Monte Carvoeiro for my honeymoon - I need more info!!! I need more details - I think I am completely obsessed with this vacation because I go to this website 2-3 times daily just to see the Webcam at the ice cream store! I love it!!! My boyfriend thinks I'm hilarious - actually I sat here on the hour waiting for the picture to change, but it didn't - so it must change when I'm not looking. Anyhoo, more info, details, awesome places to visit (ie. The family (Adults kids babies etc etc) wanting to get from Faro Airport to Carvoeiro, rent a People Carrier and drive. It's only 45 kilometres to drive and there are excellent directions for driving on this website.

We (my husband and I) came back from Carvoeiro yesterday. We stayed and the Monte Carvoeiro. It was very nice.

Just got back home www.thehope.co.uk from our week in Carvoeiro. Had a great stay and can't wait to return. We brought Joan's son Daniel along with us as he last visited when he was eight years old and has never forgotten Dan-Cones. He is twentyone now, but he still loves 'em. Left hot sunny Carvoeiro saturday to rainy grey Engalnd today. As I sit here at work I am missing it dreadfully! Monte Carvoeiro was it's usual brilliant place. Every meal on site was brilliant. The staff lovely - say hello to Maureen on reception (my husband's also Irish hence the favouritism!) Eileen - I never did get time to get my drink in Monte's so save it for next time!! on the other hand a free week I would gladly exchange it for!!! Don't take taxi's driven by Nelson - he's a maniac and overcharges. Make sure you negotiate the price before getting in the taxi. Watch out for him at the airport! have to go - work is calling !! You will get weather in October that I would describe as a typical British summer. The temp should still be warm, and you should still get plenty of sunny days. However ....you may get some cloudy days and rain also.

Like I said...a typical British summer!

Best time to go for gauranteed weather is July/August when it is hot, and no rain/cloud at all for me for the past five years!

we stayed in carvoeiro last christmas and it was beautiful.Benagil beach on christmas day our 3 year old son was running about naked like a child possessed-in the sun it must have been around 19c. christmas food-amazing beats the muck in London and the mad frenzy of purchasing commercial nonsense that noone really wants.From Emma (fed up of London and nuts for getting to carvoeiro) xxx

For watersports if you mean 'Banana boats, jet skis etc you may be better off just down the coast at Albufiera. For pony trekking there is a stable just down the road just outside Carvoeiro ...at Benagil.

Bruno is Jorge Passos son, they lived next to the petrol station in Casa Mato Serrão, but I think they sold the house and moved away. Try speaking to the girl that works during the day in the perfume shop next to the farmacia, she is a cousin, I think! Her name is Yolanda, her husband is Alvaro from Dom Rodrigo in Monte carveiro and Casa do Bife in Carvoeiro, hope this helps!

3. Caixa Geral de Depositos, on the right after the sports shop in the town.

4. Caixa Agricula going out of Carvoeiro on the left.

5. Credito Predial Portuguese going up the hill where most of the restaurants are on the right.

3, 4, and 5 are usually only possible by foot as there are never any spaces to park, hope this helps
