Have not long returned from Carvoeiro after a 2 week break (26th Sept to 10 Oct). Unfortunately weather not too fantastic but a fantastic place. Villa we stopped in was called Casa Palmela in Sesmarias and ranks very high in my estimations. there is a web site and well worth looking at - literally only 5 minutes walk away from La Pinta and Gramacho courses - if you play golf and fancy stopping in this area there are by far and away 2 of the best courses you will play in the area. Even if you don't play golf the golf course serves superb lunches and is very friendly.

Have been on holiday for many years already in Carvoeiro area....... And about Restaurants, I have tried many of them and believe me, one of the best and the best restaurant for fish is "O Algar" in Benagil. Very goog quality and the price is ok. Try it and you will see.

Well Heini That Rattled you didnt it!! To be perfectly honest I agree with your sentiments regarding Carvoeiro and if my message encourages the mature UK couple to resort to another resort then fine!! We dont need nudism in a 100% family area,Rest assured they obviously would find somewhere to exhibit their naked bodies if that is in their mind now- so the further away from Carvoeiro the better.

Why do some people post nasty messages that reflect unfavourably on the whole wonderful community of Carvoeiro and may spoil the anticipation of visitors and may even have them consider going eleswhere. A simple message that it will be too cold in November and that no such beaches are available would have been sufficient. Heini

Come on you mature UK couple!! Rocha Brava is not really the place to start getting your kit off- Nor may I add is anywhere else around Carvoeiro in November. Whatever you two might have left to stick out. they will probably drop off with the cold. Grow up!

My wife and I (a mature couple from the UK) are staying at Rocha Brava Apartments 7 - 17 November 2002.

This is our 1st visit to Carvoeiro and we would be interested to know if there are any naturist beaches in the vicinity (although novices we find we enjoy the freedom!).

To the person staying in June 2003.I stay in the area every year and there are some lovely retaurants around. The best is O Patio which is at the bottom of the hill on the square. I ate there in Sept and the food is outstanding! They come around and show you the freshly caught Lobster, Tiger prawns etc and tell you how they will cook them. The restaurant is not cheap but not over the top either. The staff are very proffesional as well. It is lovely sat at the reaturant outside listening to the entertainment on the square. It is well worth a visit. Regards The Gurd family in south wales.

SORRY YOU DIDN'T ENJOY JULIOS, I HAD THE BEST SEAFOOD SOUP EVER AND THE LAMB POT ROAST WAS DELICIOUS, TRUE THERE ARE A LOT OF GRILLS ON THE MENU BUT THEY ARE POPULAR, MY WIFE HAD THE BARBCUED KEBABS WHICH WERE EXCELLENT AND A LOT OF THEM TOO!

Re Julios, totally disagree,went there twice in September and food very average bordering poor quality and service awful. Only went twice because could not believe the first visit. Other years have been fine. If you look carefully at the menu, it's very basic stuff any "grill chef" could knock up.The white shirts and bow ties are a disguise for a poor restaraunt! Try O Cantinho,excellent food excellent service.Portuguese run, very friendly,we've been going back for years!!It's on the left going into town,has a blue sign outside,you can eat either inside or out on large patio. To walk from ADM about 10 mins down the hill. Have a great time.

We have just returned from Colina da Lapa today and it was the bees knees. The villas are excellent and so well equipped, the staff are brilliant, the restaurant superb. I would recommend this resort in Carveiro to anyone. Take a look at the Colina da lapa web site.
