Ouch.
I sense a little tension here.
Graham, who would have thought that those two harmless questions would be good for a
months worth of guest book messages. LOL. Then again, lots of people place guest book
messages on the message board, so itīs OK I guess.
It amuses me to see how many people are well prepared to endure a mind twisting battle
of wits over something so insignificant as those questions.
Donīt get me wrong though, I did post the original answer to the shark comment (wiz
kid, bean-brain, etc) with good intentions and the fact that I did not sign my messages
probably caused some additional confusion. Since there are no rules of engagement on these
boards and anyone can express his/her opinion you will always be liable to end up in
discussions like this one below.
Like I said, amusing to see how poeple go ballistic when you challenge them.
I hope you all enjoy your vacation and maybe the 6 of us (If I counted correctly) can
have a beer in Smilers one of these days.

To Mr PP. I'll sign off now as I shall be leaving for Carvoeiro tomorrow. I look
forward to the company of locals and visitors for whom humour does not consist of being
nasty and trying, albeit without success, to make others look small.Read your original
posting again - my advice to you is that if you are to engage in a battle of wits, you
should realise it will be a conflict you enter as an unarmed man.

Ref: Comment Mr Pompous pants. Obviously my reply to Shark Man (or woman) went strait
over YOUR head. I am sure every one (excluding Mr Shark Lover) knew the word Realy does
not mean anything in English and did not need you to enlighten them, BUT to help YOU
understand please try to grasp the following.
After reading the word bit, instead of bite, realy, instead of really or relay I
decided to have a little fun with it. I am sorry if this did not meet with your approval
and I do apologise if you where unable to follow my drift (get it drift, Sea, Shark,) LOL

As the person asking the original questions I can only apologise as it was not intended
to cause so much controversy or trouble.
PS Many Thanks to Telmo who gave me all the information I needed, SO PLEASE LET THAT BE
AN END TO IT ALL.

Well WHATEVER guys - there are more Great White Sharks in Ape Town (purposeful typo -
read Cape town) than anywhere else in the world. BTW (by the way) I know that Cape Town
has a large T.

OK.OK. I get the point.
So let him be ironic about sharks. All I was trying to do was make people aware of the
fact that he was talking crud and was NOT to be taken seriously.
Maybe, just maybe, I did avoid someone else calling their travel agent asking whey they
were not told about the sharks.

Feel free to move it wherever you feel appropriate. I merely responded to the message
you placed on this forum. I still think you're pompous and my opinion won't change
wherever you move the "argument". I think you must have been the only person
reading this board who took the original answer seriously - I certainly haven't seen an
avalanche of complaints.

Re: Sharks, spelling and others...
The person asked a serious question and probably expected a serious answer and not an
ironic one (misspelled or not). In any case, and conidering how many first timers to
Carvoeiro visit these boards, a comment about biting sharks is more than inapropriate.
So here is what we will do:
Either we forget about this little misunderstanding and move on, or we move this
discussion to the message board, where it belongs, and pursue this fracass to itīs final
stupidity.

Mr Pompous pants. The word Realy doesn't actually mean anything in English, perhaps
relay is the word you were thinking of. If we need any spelling lessons, rest assured we
will not be contacting you. As an earlier contributor has suggested, you may need to
consider the existence of irony as a form of humour.

Many thanks to the people who gave sensible information to the recent questions
regarding, Algarve Tap water and Childrens safety in and around the sea.
The person with the strange sense of humour should perhaps look into taking grammar and
spelling lessons as I am unsure what, SHARKS and they realy BIT means, but for your
information.
The word Realy is the act of passing something along from one person to another And a
Bit is a small potion, degree, or amount, which by the way seems to describe you
adequately.

Wow, we got a real wiz kid here!
1. The water is a bit rich in calcium but far from bad. 2. The SEA is too warm and too
shallow for sharks, bean-brain!
Whoever writes crud like that there are sharks in algarvian waters should seriously
consider getting an enema to clear his HEAD!

We are visiting Carvoeiro for the first time in September and wondered if anyone who
lives or who has been visited could email me with the answers to the following.
1) Are us Brits likely to get stomach upsets by drinking water from the tap?
2) Is there any thing that may we should be watching out for when my kids when they are
swimming in the sea i.e. anything that will sting or bite.
Email Address Graham@gclark.freeseserve.co.uk Many Thanks Graham

Owing to problem with flights will find ourselves at the end of our two weeks hols
without accomodation for a night. Couldn't care less now with the holiday in prospect but
suppose it might be an issue later. Are there Travel Lodge type "cheap and
cheerfuls" in the area that could accomodate us for one night does anyone know? Many
thanks.

Re Car Hire.
Last year I used Zitauto. Situated right next to the airport, they do all the paperwork
in the foyer and you pick up the car from right opposite. Cheap but excellent service.
They even sent me a Christmas card!!

Anyone aware of any good deals on car hire please. Looking to hire A/C Clio for two
weeks in July. Better to book from UK or wait for a deal at the airport? Many thanks.
