Looking for advice! We're planning to come to Carvoeiro for the first time ever
end Sep/beginning Oct 2001, myself, husband and two small children (3 years and 18 months
by then). Trying to decide between villas on Paraiso country club, or Rocha Brava. Any
views from you/your readers would be very welcome! Please post your advice on the message
board or guest book, I'll be checking regularly. ARK, England

We are up to you know what in snow this year,as this has not been the case for
over 17 years. We live in Brantford Ontario Canada and travelled to Portugal last year for
the first time and choose the Colina Village from the list of at least twenty provided by
Euro-Sun Travel,to help shorten our winter. Your Carverio web page was instrumental in
helping us make our decision on what area to choose along with the EuroSun Holidays
website and the travel brochers supplied by the Portuguese tourist bureau in Toronto. I
could write a book about our fantastic experience and our three week stay from Feb 23 to
March 14 /00 in Portugal, especially the Colina Village, the towns of Lagoa and Carverio.
Great people, terrific scenery, great value, easy banking, warm weather, clean and above
average accomodations, fresh fruit grown locally and great food as we tried at least 10
different restaurants all of which were first class. Our favorite one was the Stone Steak
which we ate at three times. We loved cooking our food such as the Chicken Tuna or steak,
on the hot stone, which came with special dipping sauces right in the wood base. The
flaming strawberry flambo was to die for, as the owner prepared it right beside our table.
We are getting excited to get back as we have booked the Colina Village again for the
first three weeks of March. Thanks again for the best web sights on the net, of Carverio
and the Algarve region of Portugal, a tribute to Steen Jakobsen. Mel & Ruth Ann

I haven't lived in the Algarve for four and a half years, I've been back quite a
few times but seeing all the pictures of the beaches really brought it all back. Nice one!

To Steen Jakobsen, How about a short biography of yourself on your website. I'm
sure people would be interested in knowing something about you and your ice cream parlor.

Just down the road from Colina Village there is an orange grove owned by a
little old woman. She grows oranges and almonds, also she keeps chickens and sells eggs.
She also has an outside earth oven which she bakes bread on for her own consumption. We
hope that she is still there when we arrive from the USA in February. My wife and I are
always looking for human interest stories, so if anyone has anything as such please put it
on the message board.
By the way, the poor guy who was looking a beach for he and is wife to do some
naked
surfing on sure walked into it, better luck next time Chris!! I guess the
expression, "clothes makes the man" was well thought out.
Regards from Sad Sam.
